UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF ZERO FIR

How often do we come across news where police refuse to register FIR citing jurisdiction issues? Not too far away, the incidence of gruesome and dastardly rape of a woman in Hyderabad burnt to death by the perpetrators shook the entire nation. But a bigger blot existed in the way two of the police stations refused to register FIR citing it to be outside their jurisdiction. Crucial time was lost. The crime was done. A pandora box could be opened on this issue. The question remains perpetual as to whether police can refuse to register an FIR. Thus, this article focuses on the concept of zero FIR.

This phase is commonly used in day to day life of any person who lives in metro cities like Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and so on; But why though? Why do we need to get comfortable in such an unhealthy environment on the expanse of our well being? Is development really worth all the risk we are taking or is it really worth it on the expense of leaving only skyscrapers for the coming generation? We got beautiful jungles filled with green trees passed down from our ancestors but what we are leaving is ‘concrete jungles’ for our coming generations.

Water stress and scarcity has affected, and will continue to affect, the stability of nations. Water related conflicts arise because it is limited resource and a very vital aspect for any country in the way towards development, it is also necessary for every sector of any economy, human activity including power generation, industrial production and agriculture not only these, it is also source of different resources, and plays a major role in trade via water bodies between countries. An overview of global water scarcity and security challenges is an indicator of profound difficulties and potential flashpoints in future. There are examples of struggles in supplying clean water worldwide, and in the past how water has been both a strategic tool and object of conflict. Water has been an instrument of ethnic and religious conflict as well, and even has presently been used in regional and civil clashes. Trans-boundary water sharing disputes are also a potential danger in several regions of the world and it also stresses from climate change and variability increases the uncertainty of clean water. The potential ways to move positively towards the future and increase international security is anticipating future regions which are likely to engage in conflict over water, cooperation among riparian nations, proper policy and regulatory structures, and even infrastructure solutions. Water is so important; nations cannot afford to fight over it. Instead, water resulted in greater interdependence. By ignoring violence nations have used a rather non violent approach by coming together to jointly manage their shared water resources, countries build trust and prevent conflict. Water can be a negotiating tool, too: it can offer a communication lifeline connecting countries in even in the midst of crisis.

But Private equity consists of investors and funds that make investments directly into private companies.
