Understanding Unorganized sector of Labor
Nov. 30, 2019 • Yash Kulshreshtha
Nations are built on the shoulders of the working class. It is necessary to understand their perspectives from the ground zero. While the state is proposing to give a new indigenous face to the labour laws by consolidating the labour legislations into four concise codes, a sector of workers still remain ‘unrecognized’ by the statutes. The ‘unorganized sector’ constitutes the largest proportion of workmen and contributes majorly to the economy in India, yet even the proper definition of ‘unorganized sector worker’ has not been arrived at. Niti Manthan made an attempt to dwell into this sector. It was possible for Niti Manthan to come up with this report because of able guidance and support of Mr. C.K. Saji Narayan, Adyaksha, Bharatiye Mazdoor Sangh and Mr. Vrijesh Upadhyaya, General Secretary, Bharaitye Mazdoor Sangh.
