An Indian student's letter China

Jun. 18, 2020   •   Nitish Rai

Dear neighbour,

You are already beleaguered in an inevitable cobweb, your borders are rife with cantankerous fisticuffs, be it with Taiwan or India. US is head over heels in the mood to incriminate you for Wuhan COVID-19 virus, even when some may allege it be propaganda for the upcoming elections. Despite your stringent policies, homegrown protests and violence in Hong Kong are more of a public secret, which has been further snowballed in response to the forceful exposition of your National Security Laws. Singapore and Australia, amongst other ASEAN countries, are already sceptical of your move in the South China Sea which has been converted from a global common to allegedly occupied ‘Chinese sea.’ Amidst all this, the present escalation in Galwan will do no good but add further insult to the injury caused to your repute, which I know you shirk off in oblivion.

Your subjects may have acclimatized to the tyrannous rule of your single party government but the neighbours are not to sit and bear the brunt of your psychotic behaviour. With a heavy heart, I say, we can’t change our neighbours but we are here to retaliate and speak out to the world you black deeds in our white words. I also know that you don't give a heck to the world hegemony against you but for how long? India will sooner join UNSC (just became a non-permanent member yet again) and may be considered to as a part of G-7 too, and this shouldn’t bend you out of shape.

We are not your imperial hosts; to walk the way you carve and speak the out what you tutor. You can’t stifle our voices and actions. Roads and bridges will be built while your soldiers sit on Galwan and gape at us either with soupy noodles garnished with coronavirus or their toyed Chinese guns. You can better trace what has instigated to you to push your wisdom downhill, but just to tell, India will tenaciously hold out BRI(Border Road Initiate) and CPEC(China Pakistan Economic Corridor) is not even the last thing on our minds.

I can also smell the stench of communist bonhomie being cooked up between you and NCP(Nepal communist party). The reverse osmosis of audacity is seemingly visible. But, I pity how you have taken their minds to dragons. I wish the essence of Budha from Lumbini enlighten them and shoo away the spectacle of avariciousness. Since NCP is all ears to you and hardly care to pay heed to one of its most trustworthy and reliable neighbours, kindly consider reminiscing the 2015 episode of Nepal Blockout. I believe a true friend always shows the right path. The hurry in Nepal’s sansad to pass the renewed map has already defiled the curry and I wish it doesn’t clamp down on the meagre possibilities that are left to fill the deep cracks in the wall that had been built over centuries. The uncanny resistance to roads whether in DBO(Sikkim) or dharchula (Kalapani) by Nepal and you is a bad communist joke at this juncture. The Gorkha regiment in India is a stark testimony to the Indo-Nepal ties but India will not think twice before returning the compliments to anyone who tries to interfere with its boundaries.

So, Dear China, this is a clean chit to your dirty politics, the country stands against you, the sacrifices in Galwan will not go in vain, we are determined to bring down your economy in tatters, we stand by our army to hail it for its bravery and valour. You please bow down in shame for the unscrupulous and cowardly act of PLA(People's Liberation Army).

Angrily

A Brave Indian
