The US Supreme Court has ruled Louisiana abortion law as unconstitutional.[1] Even though, a similar Texas law was ruled unconstitutional in 2016, the Supreme Court by a majority of 5-4 has reemphasized women rights in this blazing feminism era. Union of India has recently passed an amendment to Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 exhibiting the progressive mindset of the legislators. The amendment is brought at a time when the landmark case in US, Roe vs. Wade, is under scrutiny. [2] This article will discuss how does the recent struck down of Louisiana abortion law affects abortion rights. Additionally, the history of abortion law in both US and India are discussed.
