In light of the conviction of social activist-cum lawyer Mr. Prashant Bhushan for criminal contempt of courts via his tweets, the idea of contempt, laws of contempt and the dichotomy of the same with respect to freedom of speech and expression have been a part of public discourse. The article aims to briefly discuss the various laws that cover contempt and how have these laws been interpreted in the matter of Mr. Prashant Bhushan.
